Gavin King is a PhD candidate working in the area of quantum machine learning, and a Red Hat Distinguished Engineer at IBM. He obtained masters degrees in theoretical physics at the University of Barcelona and in quantum science and technology at the collaborating Barcelona-based universities (UB, UAB, UPC). His undergraduate degree in mathematics was completed at Monash University in Australia. During his 25 year career in enterprise computing he created a number of significant technologies including Hibernate, the industry-standard persistence solution for Java, which underlies very many of the
world's most mission-critical enterprise applications.
